ALL ABOUT MOM, BUSY MOM

Being a busy mom does not really mean that you are working for someone or doing an 8 to 5 job. You can be a house wife and still be a busy mom. The weary person is usually mom. She is the one that takes care of matters concerning health and home, but who takes care of her?  If you are a busy mom, learn to value yourself as a person and schedule personal time, so that you will still be around your family and friends without breaking down from stress relating to family issues.Personal time is a right of being a person.  Each of us has the capacity to nurture others but that type of care takes its toll. When you don’t map out time for your self, it eventually takes a toll on you.

A car is filled with gas to make it run, eventually your car runs out of gas and your car won’t move unless the car is replenished with fuel. The same goes for you.  Emotional issues can develop when you don’t take the time to take care of your emotional well-being, not to mention the physical results of emotional neglect. Sometimes too much is expected of the mom, and you trying to meet up with all your responsibility you tend to brake down just like a car. Moms try to always refuel the tank so that you can give to your family as well as yourself in equal measure. Don’t be ashamed to sit for fifteen minutes doing nothing.  In the springtime, relaxing in a hammock under a tree is the perfect getaway from the pressures of the day.  Reading a book for 30 minutes can also seem like heaven to many moms. Going out with friends too can help refuel your tank.

TIPS TO HELP MANAGE YOUR TIME AS A MOM

1. Early to rise: When you have kids, the day begins with a hurried pace.  Once you hit the ground running, you cannot stop yourself. Waking up early ahead of time means quiet solitude to drink your coffee, read a book, meditate or listen to music. And also waking up in time helps you in doing most of your house chores before the kids wakes up, especially if you’re a young mom.

2. Remember the Boy Scout motto: Always be prepared and you can spend more time in a relaxed mode.  Fix lunches the night before.  Iron clothes for the next day and place backpacks by the front door so kids can grab them on their way out.  The fewer things you have to do, the more relax and calm you become through out the day, but when you remember the to put everything in place the night before, you will feel better.

3. Spend some time in the bathroom:  When you take a bath, add candles, bubble bath, quiet music and/or an inflatable bath pillow.  Your regular bath has now become a spa level experience. You can do so many things while still in the bathroom; you can watch movies, pamper yourself with some warm bath and the rest. You will surely come home feeling refreshed than ever before.

4. Wearing a smile always:  Keep a funny calendar cube on your desk or subscribe to a daily joke site.  Laughing releases stress and can lift your spirits significantly.  It also keeps the abs tight. Smiling also reduces the number of wrinkle lines you have on your face and helps to make you look younger. Life is all about being humorous, wear a smile!

5. Leave the kids for some fresh air.  Kids love their mothers, but prefers to spend their time with dad, which  is important too.  Let them bond with dad while you go shopping for a new outfit or root around in the garden.  Since the time is yours, do whatever you like. You can go to the salon, massage pallor or to the swimming pool, all these help to wind all some time without having to tend to one person or the other.

6. Take exercise breaks. When you get a few minutes the last thing you want to do is exercise, but getting a little physical activity in your day has far-reaching implications.  Exercise helps you to think clearly and stretches the muscles.  Also, stress will drain away as powerful endorphins are released into your system.  Do jumping jacks during a television commercial or jog to the bus stop to pick up the kids. But don’t try to do some heavy exercise, it won’t help you to relax.

7.All girls outing: Once in a while invite your friends for an all girls outing, where you can relate to issues bordering you as a mom, and also share the experience of your friends. This will really help your emotional feelings, pouring your burden to someone else especially those who really understands what you are really talking about helps to reduce the stress of emotional feelings.

8.Join a women social group: This group always create an atmosphere where all the members meet to discuss issues and also find solution to so many problems relating to family life, so joining them will really help you, in managing your time as they might have come up with a solution to a problem that you are currently undergoing.

Everyone most especially Moms, needs to take care of yourself. Your family would miss you if you were not around to love and care for them, the people around you and even your nation in general will miss you.  You owe it to yourself and you deserve a break from the daily hustle and bustle. After all the saying that says “ All work and no play makes  jack a lazy man” has a meaning.  You wont want people to term you a workaholic so take that break now! you need it.
