DISORDER IN PREGNANCY
Pregnancy as much as we wanted it ,has its up’s and down’s. There are some common pregnancy disorders that we mothers to be faces during the time of pregnancy, some may be mild while others maybe severe. Here are some pregnancy disorder one may face
Breathlessness and palpitations- In some cases of pregnancy, elevation of the diaphragm may cause the pregnant woman to become ‘out of breath’ during the later weeks of pregnancy and become aware of her heat beats at the same time. In the absence of tachycardia nothing more is required other than assurance. Assurance from spouse, family members, friends and even the midwife or doctor, as this may be a soothing relief. If however, tachycardia is present then the pregnant mother should see a doctor who will examine her to exclude anemia, cardiac disease and thyrotosis.
Constipation and Hemorrhoids –This is a kind of pregnancy disorder whereby the woman is having constipation. The issue of pregnancy is not such that one plays with so I will advice you see a doctor in a severe case
Cramps- Sudden cramps in the abdominal wall, back and calf are common in the later part of pregnancy. This could be as a result of lack of calcium, vitamin b1 and vitamin d. Hence doctor advice the administration of a table teaspoonful of cod-liver oil daily.
Dizziness and faintness -. During pregnancy the vasomotor system tends to be unstable and this, combined with lowering of the blood pressure, tends to cause fainting attacks. The cerebral anemia is overcome by bending forward with your head between your knees. It may be as a result of anemia, take lots of green vegetables, meat and fish.
Heartburn – The exact cause of this symptom is obscure. The fact that a majority respond to alkalis led to the old belief that gastric hyperacidity was responsible, some people suggested that regurgitation of stomach contents associated with a hiatus hernia may be the real cause. You may take some tablets that relief heartburn to get a relief or you may see your doctor for a guideline.
Frequency of micturition- If the uterus is anteverted, this pregnancy disorder may occur from the 4th to 12th week .Similarly engagement of presenting part may cause frequency in pregnancy. If however, dysuria occurs, You are advised to see a doctor.
Insomania- Sound sleep is important for one to avoid the issue of mental exhaustion. Make sure you get enough sleep as this will help you over come pregnancy disorder. If you are unable to sleep well, try lying die to get enough rest.
Salivation-This is a neurotic symptom, which responds to fluid replacement. So you are advised to take lots of liquids during the day and even at night.
