Chapter 395 - 332: Candy’s Anger

Chapter 395 - 332: Candy’s Anger

Hadina’s words had caused Aurianna to be embarrassed so she simply stared at the sea avoiding the suspicious gazes she was getting.

Christopher narrowed his eyes as he took a step closer to Batholem, who had been acting odd ever since Aurianna denounced being married to Hadina. Batholem’s shoulders were stiff, but he had a bit of a satisfied smile on his face.

"What is the relieved look for Batholem?" Christopher asked staring at him intensely

Batholem’s eyes darted left and right before landing on Christopher’s face. His lips twitched, forming a nervous smile that fooled absolutely no one.

"Oh nothing," Batholem shook his head and let out a nervous chuckle.

His voice cracked slightly as he spoke, and he abruptly looked away, rubbing the back of his neck. Sweat trickled down his temple despite the cool breeze. It was painfully obvious he was lying, so obvious that even the least observant students began whispering amongst themselves. But before Christopher could push further, another voice interrupted.

"Aurianna," Peter called out to her.

His voice carried a sense of urgency, not loud, but sharp enough that Aurianna turned almost immediately.

"Yes Peter," Aurianna answered as she saw him get closer to him.

Peter’s brows were drawn together, the usual calm in his expression overshadowed by concern. He stopped in front of her, arms folded tightly across his chest.

"My future sight isn’t working," Peter stated with a frown.

For a heartbeat, Aurianna didn’t react. Then her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. Peter’s future sight was one of the most reliable abilities in their group especially in a situation like going to a Ruin. Even if he didn’t use his time powers to interfere he would be able to at least advise them in case something bad may happen. But what was even more troubling now was that his time powers aren’t working.

"Well that’s a problem," Aurianna stated.

Peter let out a long breath, shaking his head.

"Yeah this only happens when it’s a future relating to you so as we go to the Ruin be careful," Peter warned.

His tone was serious, too serious for his usual laid-back demeanor. Aurianna felt her expression shift into something colder. If Peter couldn’t see her future, then something dangerous was definitely gonna happen.

"Hmm so what about the others’ future?" Aurianna asked, her arms crossed.

Peter’s frown deepened as he looked up at the sky helplessly.

"I can’t see it either," Peter said shaking his head.

Aurianna exhaled slowly, the weight of that information settling over her shoulders like a very heavy cloak.

"Alright then I guess we’d have to be careful then," Aurianna stated calmly looking at him.

Despite her voice sounding calm, her mind was already racing. There was definitely something wrong with that Ruin. But she forced a small smile anyway, trying to ease the tension slightly.

She straightened, placing her hands on her hips in her usual confident manner.

"But if anything bad were to happen, you all must make use of the second life pact. I would honestly feel more assured if you had my mark but it’s alright just know that nothing wrong will happen while I’m around. I think," Aurianna chuckled with a smile.

The faint chuckle made Peter’s shoulders relax a little.

"I guess I’ll believe you then," Peter stated with a smile.

Their moment of brief relief didn’t last long. The ship finally docked on the other side, entering the land of Desire.

The docks were massive, with ships of all shapes and sizes clustered together. The air buzzed with noise. People shouted across the decks, merchants bartered with customers of various races, others helped hauled crates, and adventurers with glowing weapons passed by

The students leaned over the deck, wide-eyed, trying to take in the scenery all at once. From afar, they spotted large buildings, inns, taverns, lodgings, built to house the never-ending stream of travelers arriving for the Ruin and Dungeon lands and also leaving.

And there was a massive tower as well having a purple colour and the goddess of desire’s symbol of a sexy woman drawn on it.

Down on the docks, workers scurried around with irritated faces, some frustrated to the point of shouting while staring at the papers in their hands.

Someone in the group murmured in confusion.

"Hmm why do the people here look mostly like adventurers?" someone asked, noticing a lot of people in adventure-like outfits.

Draek stepped forward, his voice steady and informative.

"Because the Ruin and Dungeon lands are here, and they get money from killing monsters in dungeons. Most dungeon and Ruin lands are given an entire land that is as big as a small country so in case of a monster flood so people don’t die," Draek answered calmly.

He gestured toward the horizon where more towers and faintly glowing structures dotted the landscape.

"Now then let’s get down!" He added as he saw Saem finishing the ship’s stairs.

Everyone followed his lead, stepping off the ship one by one.

Candy, the cat girl in Saem’s crew, approached them as she noticed Saem’s ship arrived.

"Saem who are all these people?" Candy asked.

But before Saem could even respond, Candy’s eyes widened and locked onto someone within Aurianna’s group.

Her pupils shrank. Her tail puffed. The fur on her arms bristled.

She froze.

Because there, standing calmly near the students, was Yui.

’That same armour, same height and weapon in hands!’ Candy’s mind screamed.

Her claws extended with a sharp metallic sound.

Without warning, she shot forward like a bullet, tears already prickling in her eyes, pure rage twisting her expression.

She aimed straight for Yui’s throat, but Yui moved even faster.

Instead of dodging, Yui calmly raised her armoured hand and blocked Candy’s attack like it was nothing. The impact echoed with a metallic crack. Before Candy could react, Yui’s hand wrapped around her neck, squeezing tightly.

Candy clawed desperately at the armor, her nails scraping uselessly against its surface. Tears streamed down her face as she choked.

"You it’s you!" Candy yelled as she glared at Yui.

Her voice was strained, trembling with fury and pain.

Yui didn’t flinch. Instead, she looked down at Candy with an annoyed look.

"Master, may I dispose of her. She attacked me with full intention to kill," Yui stated coldly.
