The Demon Emperor was Saint Emperor

Chapter 154: Late Arrival

Chapter 154: Late Arrival

Time continued to slip away amidst Lynn’s endless imagination.

As the deadline approached with only five minutes left, a lazy and alluring voice finally arrived late.

"Ha~~ I’m not late, am I?"

Under the watchful eyes of Lynn and the demons, the final Demon King, Sloth Demon King, staggered into the Golden Hall with a swaying gait.

She looked like she hadn’t fully woken up, or maybe she had just woken up and was still in a dazed state.

Lynn raised his eyes to see the Sloth Demon King casually wearing her Demon King’s Armor, but it was cleverly not revealing.

Having the title of Sloth, this Demon King was naturally not diligent. Even with ample time and arriving almost last, she hadn’t bothered to dress up, not even applying light makeup, appearing with a bare face.

Yet even bare-faced, her looks were quite striking, not losing out to the other six Demon Kings, similarly top-tier.

"Sloth sister didn’t even comb her hair..."

The Gluttonous Demon King Betty ran over to support the swaying Sloth Demon King, clearly showing the good relationship between them, sticking together immediately upon meeting.

As Betty said, the Sloth Demon King not only came without makeup and clothes properly worn, but, she hadn’t even combed her hair. Lynn even suspected she hadn’t washed her face.

However, it couldn’t be seen; high-level Saint Tier and above beings, unless deliberately rolling in mud or engaging in intense battles, could practically remain spotless. For mundane everyday life, it’s hard for them to become dirty.

But being not dirty doesn’t mean looking neat and tidy — like Betty mentioned about hair, even if clean and shiny, if it’s messy, it’ll seem dirty.

Sloth Demon King indeed appeared clean but looked especially sloppy. Lynn could imagine her Demon King Palace filled with leftover takeout boxes, instant noodle bowls, cigarette butts, and beer cans scattered on the floor, clothing everywhere except in the wardrobe, taking up over two-thirds of the bed, with the quilt barely discernible without careful inspection.

"The Demon Emperor seems to be thinking of something quite rude. I’m just lazy, but I love cleanliness."

While Lynn’s mind wandered freely, the Sloth Demon King had already paid her respects to him, and seeing his blank eyes not truly looking at her, she, experienced in such situations, immediately guessed what thoughts were floating in Lynn’s mind.

"Yes, yes, Sloth Sister is very clean. If you don’t believe it, come and see — her outfit may be loose on the outside, but inside she’s quite meticulous. You can also come and smell her; Sloth Sister smells quite fragrant."

Gluttonous Demon King Betty also chimed in, eager to prove her sister’s cleanliness. Having freeloaded many meals from her elder sister, she needed to prove useful at crucial moments!

"Really?"

Lynn was intrigued upon hearing those words, genuinely wanting to go over to see and smell, but Proud Demon King Ilya promptly rushed over to knock Betty’s head, pulling the two misbehaving sisters back to their seats.

Everyone present was notable within the Demon Realm, and in such public setting, allowing the Demon Emperor to undress and smell Sloth was inappropriate.

This topic could not continue, or else to maintain Demon etiquette, the Demon Emperor would have no choice but to approach Sloth.

"Ahem, Demon Emperor, the time is nearly up."

At this moment, Proud Demon King Ilya, as the leader of the seven sisters, had to step forward to change the subject.

In fact, even if she didn’t change the topic, others didn’t much care about the Sloth Demon King’s affairs. After all, among the Seven Great Demon Kings, she had the least presence, barely dealing with anything, maintaining only her title, which was fine for other demons as she wouldn’t vie for power and wealth.

Their sole conflict was the title, but precisely because she was the best Demon King, she was also the easiest to bully. If not for the Guardian Demon Gods backing them, the Sloth Demon King would likely be the first one overthrown.

"Hmm, one last minute is left. Ilya, sort out the demon count — list those who are absent. I’ll deal with those inconsiderate guys first before starting the meeting!"

Lynn looked at the time, seeing only one minute left before his set deadline, and those who were meant to have arrived had mostly gathered; it was time to close the net.

"As you command, Demon Emperor..."

"Hang on!"

Before Ilya’s responding voice fell, a robust voice echoed from outside the Golden Hall.

Turning around, the demons saw a muscular middle-aged demon leading a group of powerful demons, entering the Golden Hall right on the dot.

At the moment his feet crossed into the hall, Lynn’s set deadline ticked down its last second; here was an artist of action, hitting the mark precisely, without a second to spare.

"Hold on! Forget about counting for now."

At this point, Lynn waved a hand, interrupting Ilya’s gaze throughout the hall.

Demons witnessing this gasped internally; how impressive that even the arrogant new Demon Emperor granted face to the renowned Grand Duke Gutts, who was now a newly promoted demigod of the Demon Race. Despite this new Demon Emperor’s strength being comparable to his level, publicly brushing off Gutts’ face was unprecedented.

"Demon Emperor, this..."

Ilya hesitated, wanting to warn Lynn while fearing to say too much.

"Why bother counting? Aren’t they all there? The deadline’s passed; any demons still outside wouldn’t be spared by me!"

Lynn’s words concluded, and newly entered Grand Duke Gutts’ face changed. As the anchor of his faction, he walked in front deliberately, not missing the deadline but stepping in the very moment it expired — warning the self-proclaimed Demon Emperor not to act too aggressively, to show some restraint.

Yet, this Demon Emperor seemed unwilling to show mutual respect.

"Demon Dragon Illidan, you..."

Gutts extended an arm, protecting his son and subordinates behind him, then prepared to converse properly with Lynn.

But Lynn wasn’t interested in idle chatter.

"Step aside!"

Lynn yelled, instantly donning top-tier 900-level Demon Armor, then charged towards the demons behind Grand Duke Gutts wielding his perfectly-sized Giant Axe.
